Do we need a weekend?

Today's Staturday. But I got up at 7:15. Pretty early,right? I didn't suppose Candy could be that early, so today I was late for morning reading. Actually, last night, I thought that it was weekend and I needed a break! But several days ago, I had told some of my friends that we shouldn't need any so call weekend! Because we are so happy now! Only the employees need a weekend to make the rejuvenated. When I was on my summer intern, sometimes I really felt depressed. The job is tiring, boring, tedious, and I need something more challanging to do. But unfortunately, I spent most of my off on sleeping! Though I think sleeping is a way to relax, I don't think it's the best way. In my opinion, reading maybe a better way to rejuvenate. I am sorry, I went to far away.
Why do I think a student needn't a weekend? Because I think we are free in our campus. When we are free we can go to play basketball anytime we want! We can manage our time during the workday. Some of us just attend the class , watch movie, and play games on weekday. They think somedays they have to get up as early as 8 o'clock, so they take a break on weekend. They sleep till noon, then order a piece of fast snack for lunch, then maybe go to sleep again, or watch a movie, then play games, the order a piece of fast snack for dinner, then watch another film or play games to kill time, at last, they go to sleep at midnight. What a boring life in my eyes! Though we think we should not be so cruel to ourselves. Do you think reading or going to library is painful? I really enjoy reading, which can not only make me relax, but also deepen my thought.
So I think we students do not need a so call weekend! We should take more advantage of weekends to do sth. more useful!
